Jnoad Ltd was appointed as the MEP Designer for two critical infrastructure upgrades at Intu Victoria Centre, Nottingham. These schemes demonstrate our technical versatility and commitment to sustainable, future-ready design.
We designed the electrical infrastructure to support 10 twin-outlet EV chargers (20 charging points) at Level -3 of the Green Zone car park. The scheme included integration with existing switchgear, new distribution boards, containment systems, and full commissioning documentation. This initiative formed part of the centre’s broader sustainability strategy.
We provided full MEP design for the replacement of two aging chillers with high-efficiency units, alongside new circulating pumps, filtration systems, and BMS controls. The works were carefully phased to minimise disruption to retail units, with detailed coordination for crane lifts, flushing, and commissioning in a live operational environment.
Project Details & Design WinsElectrical infrastructure for 20 EV outlets, interfacing with existing switchgear and designed for scalability. Including new distribution board, cable discrimination checks, and open protocol equipment.
Replacement of two Trane chillers with Daikin EWYT265B-XSA2 units (480kW total), including new Grundfos pumps, filtration, and BMS controls.
Chiller removal and installation required road closures, crash deck construction, and precision lifting from Cairns Road above the plantroom. All works to be safely executed in a constrained city-centre environment.
Both schemes were delivered to BS7671, CIBSE, and CDM standards, with comprehensive O&M manuals, circuit schedules, water treatment protocols, and asset registers for long-term maintenance.
